Set on a wooded lot in Potomac, this 1970s modern home already had a strong connection to its natural setting. The homeowners wanted to build on that quality with a series of outdoor living spaces that would help their family spend more meaningful time outside.

Savvy Design Studio developed three distinct design concepts using mood boards, precedent imagery, and concept sketches. The owners selected the “Open Edges” scheme, inspired by abstract modern art, and light airy spaces.

The design extends the life of the home into the landscape, creating outdoor spaces for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the property’s wooded surroundings - a thoughtful step toward a home shaped for family life now and for years to come.
