Modern Forest Home
Gaithersburg, Maryland
Gaithersburg, Maryland
The Owners of this 1970's rambler in Gaithersburg purchased the home for its potential, and waited years until they were able to make the quality of changes they wanted to their forever home. The character of the stunning location is brought inside through expansive views and biophilic design incorporated into every detail.
The project focused on the interior living areas, including major spatial reconfiguration and structural repairs. The new layout creates an open flow between spaces, but the ability to retreat was also prioritized with the newly created sage green library, complete with double pocket doors for privacy. A two-island kitchen allows the whole family to cook together and entertain. Changing and enlarging the window openings and significant energy upgrades brought the outside in, while maintaining comfort and energy efficiency inside.
Construction completed January 2025.
