Kitchen Addition

This Herndon colonial-style home had the character its owners loved, but its narrow kitchen no longer supported the way they wanted to live.

Brought in by Interior Designer Monika Martin of Zigzag Studio Design, Savvy Design Studio helped create the extra space needed to make a meaningful difference. The addition transformed the kitchen while respecting the scale, proportions, and character of the existing home. A skylight and new window over the sink bring in natural light, air, and a quiet sense of drama, turning a once-constrained kitchen into a brighter, more generous heart of the home.

Completed in Spring 2023, this project shows how thoughtful design can help a beloved home evolve beautifully for the years ahead.
